Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, one or more of the external links you added do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 19:56, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Th external link that you added has nothing to do with tigers. If you look at the article there is also an Wikipedia link to Siegfried and Roy but there is no external link to thier site. The external links should be relevant to the article. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 20:30, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
Please take the time to read Wikipedia:External links. The ones that apply here are Wikipedia:External links#What to link, the context is lacking, and Wikipedia:External links#Links normally to be avoided, #1 and #14 in the list. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 15:13, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
THe link was removed because it's not relevant to white tigers. It's about white lions and adds nothing to the article. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 15:53, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Library IP

Just to let everyone know: This is a library IP. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.1.195.4 (talkcontribs) 12:57, 1 October 2007

[edit] October 2007

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you delete or blank page contents or templates from Wikipedia, as you did to White tiger, you will be blocked from editing. sohmc 15:12, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

The information you added to White tiger might be accurate but that is not enough. Information in Wikipedia should be verifiable through references to reliable sources. Without references an independent reader cannot verify that the information is correct. Unverifiable information is likely to be deleted because it cannot be distinguished from vandalism.

If the information you want to add is accurate, then you should be able to find elsewhere on the web, a newspaper article or some other reliable source that you can add as a citation to demonstrate that your information is correct. If you need help on how to format a reference then please ask.

You might also find it useful to leave a message on the talk page of the editor who has deleted your material as being unsourced. He can explain his reasons for deleting the material and the two of you can discuss how to provide reliable references to support your material. Sbowers3 17:24, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

You said that you used the Wikipeida Cat article for a reference and that's the problem. Wikipedia is not a relilable source. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 15:51, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
The link is Reliability of Wikipedia. If the original source was given in another article then it could also be quoted in white tiger. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 16:07, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] White tiger

It was User:Averette as can be seen here. By the way if you use four ~~~~ it will give your signature and date/time stamp. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 18:25, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

I see your point. I'll try and fix up the references so they are inline citations. But I'll need a bit of help. You'll need to tell me which publications you are referring to with the following:
  • Sankhala 1976
  • Gee 1964

The rest of them are obvious from the list at the bottom in the references section. Those two are the only ones I'm not sure of. Give me a while and I'll get the others in. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 19:05, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

I'm really sorry for my edit. Please accept my apology. Oda Mari (talk) 04:33, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button Image:Wikisigbutton.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 14:11, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unreferenced

That would be because I was working on fixing the references and didn't think about removing the tag. I've done it now. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 16:56, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] White tiger

The Crandon Park bit would have been me. I didn't notice that she died before the zoo was moved. Thanks for the kind words and thanks for finding all the references. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 17:50, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Entered the reference. Looking good there. Thanks for all your work. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 15:36, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hippos

Looks fine to me. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 16:34, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Heterozygous tiger

Can you take a look at that. It could do with some references and you might know which ones to use. THanks. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 20:06, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hippos

Hi User:72. I've noticed you seem to know quite a bit about animals. Have you ever considered creating an account here on Wikipedia? It's quite easy, and if anybody ever vandalizes Wikipedia from the library you use, you won't have to risk getting in trouble for it. (I'm a big lover of hippos. I've done a lot of work on the hippo articles, but I didn't know about Eisenhower's pygmy hippo! That's so cool!) Anyways, if you decide you want to create an account I'd be happy to help you get started. --JayHenry 21:12, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Heterozygous Tiger

Ah. Thanks. There is I think a Golden tabby article as well.

To contact JayHenry (or any user that does not have a talk link) is just to click on the blue link they provide to their user page and then click on the "discussion" tab near the top. Here's the direct link to his talk page User talk:JayHenry. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 23:56, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

No problems. I left JayHenry a message at User talk:JayHenry#User talk:72.1.195.4. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 16:19, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
I've left him a message about the hippo. As for the tiger/golden tabby you would need a source for the information.
By the way. Most of the messages that was at the top didn't seem to apply right now so I moved it into an archive. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 16:08, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Pictures

I see that JayHEnry hasn't edited since you left the message. Is it possible to get your friend to register an account so they could upload the pictures? I will check through the white tiger references in a while when I have some more time. Just off to work. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 17:42, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] "Indo-Chinese tiger" or "Indochinese tiger"

Just looking at a 1986 US dictionary I found that they only had the Indo-Chinese spelling. A secondary source, WordWeb Pro, give both spellings. I did notice that both dictionaries define the word as "relating to Indochina. I also noticed that MS Word will accept both spellings in either UK or US English. I guess it's just a variant and either one is correct. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 06:48, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Trivia

I cut down the triva and converted it into prose. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 15:48, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nibras23

Who knows why people do that. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 16:06, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

If you see stuff like that with no sources don't bother trying to look for them. Just remove it right away as it's a violation of Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons, which says "Unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material — whether negative, positive, or just questionable — about living persons should be removed immediately and without discussion from Wikipedia articles, talk pages, user pages, and project space." If it's true then it's up to the person adding it to source it. If they continue to re-add it then either let a administrator know or better make a report at Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 16:22, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vandals

If you got to [1] and then look at the bottom it shows various things that you can check. One of these is http://samspade.org/whois/125.237.34.205 which shows Auckland. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 20:06, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Ah, now you are asking things that are beyond my technical knowledge. I suppose it's possible but I'm not sure. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 20:20, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] white tiger

It's important to remember not to put any of his information on Wikipedia. You are right though if the material has already been published then it's OK fro it to be in the article. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 19:48, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Please do not assume ownership of articles such as Erica Campbell. If you aren't willing to allow your contributions to be edited extensively or be redistributed by others, please do not submit them. Thank you. Don't ignore WP:Verifiability's "Articles should rely on reliable, third-party published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy" simply because you think primary sources should be used instead.
