[edit] History
The airline was founded in 1946 by three ex-employees of Sabena. The airline quickly flourished and turned a reasonable profit, and was on its way to become a serious competitor to Sabena. So Sabena took a majority share in Sobelair. The company became a full daughter of Sabena, and concentrated itself on charter flights. On January 19, 2004, some two years after mother airline Sabena, the airline declared bankruptcy. In June 2004, the bankruptcy was declared invalid. However, service did not resume, as no infrastructure nor personnel remained.
