Sande is a municipality in the county of Møre og Romsdal, Norway.
Sande was separated from Herøy 1867. Rovde was separated from Sande January 1, 1905.

The municipality (originally the parish) is named after the farm Sande (Old Norse Sandr), since the first church was built there. The name is identical with the word sandr m 'sand, sandy beach'.
Until 1892 the name was written Sandø.
