Sanbu District, Chiba

Sanbu (山武郡; -gun) is a district located in Chiba, Japan.
As of 2003, the district had an estimated population of 150,863 and a density of 494.26 persons per km². The total area is 305.23 km². This does not take into account changes due to the 2006 merger of four towns and villages to form the city of Sanmu.

- On March 27, 2006, the towns of Sanbu, Naruto, Hasunuma and Matsuo merged to form the new city of Sanmu.
- On March 27, 2006, the town of Yokoshiba merged with Hikari from Sousa District to form the new town of Yokoshiba in Sanbu District.
