[edit] Welcome from Redwolf24
Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We as a community are glad to have you and thank you for creating a user account! Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The Five Pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Editing, policy, conduct, and structure tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
- Merging, redirecting, and renaming pages
- If you're ready for the complete list of Wikipedia documentation, there's also Wikipedia:Topical index.
Yes some of the links appear a bit boring at first, but they are VERY helpful if you ever take the time to read them.
Remember to place any articles you create into a category so we don't get orphans.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, please be sure to sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, or three tildes (~~~) for just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome.

[edit] US Air/America West
Be aware that the two airlines have not merged. Only the parent companies have merged. The airlines will not merge until some time in 2007. This is restricted by the FAA. There is a lot of work that needs to happen. So combining fleets or trying to elimate one is not correct. Vegaswikian 23:46, 27 September 2005 (UTC)
Please take a look at Talk:US Airways. There are two people now who disagree with what you're doing to the article. RingMaruf 23:52, 27 September 2005 (UTC)
- The point is that they are still two airlines. Your changes are just not correct or factual. Please continue this discussion in the talk page mentioned above. This is not going to be an easy change to make to the existing articles. It needs to be done with care. Vegaswikian 23:56, 27 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Talk pages
When you reply to a comment place a * in front of your reply. If you are replying to a reply use a **. The more nested, the more *s you use. You can use a : instead, some articles do that and in some the two are mixed. By doing this, it makes it easier to follow a discussion thread. Enjoy. Vegaswikian 00:15, 28 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Chrysler minivans
Hi there, I saw you that added the cleanup tag to the Chrysler minivans article, see the cleanup page for my reply. --ApolloBoy 03:24, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] America West Airlines
I like your last change to America West Airlines, I think that really covers the relationship to a T. Vegaswikian 00:56, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] GM Minivans
Hi, Airline, I was wondering if you would support me in the discussion to keep the GM minivans separate, rather than merge them with the Chevrolet Lumina APV and Chevrolet Venture articles. I'd really appreciate your help ans support. -Bavaria 17:36, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Participant alert regarding Wikiproject on Advertising
The Wikiproject No Ads, created as a backlash against the Answers.com deal, has served an important function in providing a space for users to express their disagreement with the Foundation proposal. While the current controversies about userboxes raise questions about political and social advocacy on Wikipedia, there should be greater flexibility regarding advocacy about Wikipedia in the Wikipedia namespace. Reported and linked by Slashdot and other press sources as a unique and spontaneous occurence in Wikipedia history, it has apparently had some impact as, despite being scheduled to begin in January, not a peep has been heard about the trial and proposed sponsored link since the deal's controversial announcement months ago. Currently, however, there is an attempt to delete the project or move it off Wikipedia altogether. Since the Foundation has provided no additional information and has not attempted to answer the specific questions that participants in the project raised, it is unclear if the Answers.com deal has been abandoned or simply delayed. Until the situation becomes more clear, I believe the group should still have a place in the Wikipedia namespace. Sincerely, Tfine80 00:16, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Scotch Tape
Hi - Glad to see you've made a Scotch Tape article! I was wondering, where did you find the information about the origin of the Scotch name? Thanks! -SCEhardT 23:03, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
- Hello. Regarding your inquiry into how I found the origin of the word scotch, I'm afraid I don't really have a good answer. That info was on another page of a competing brand, which I cannot remember at the moment, that for some reason Scotch tape redirected to also. Sorry I don't have a more interesing story. Airline 00:47, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
Airline - Thanks for getting back to me about this! I've removed the information about the origin of the Scotch name to the talk page since we really can't have this type of information in our articles unless it comes from a reliable and cited source. -SCEhardT 01:10, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
- I agree. Best wishes. Airline 01:11, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Important WikiProject Automobiles Discussion
Hello! As a Wikipedia:WikiProject Automobiles member, I just thought you might want to input your opinions on an important discussion we're currently having about whether articles regarding similar vehicles should be merged into one or split by brand. If you would like to comment or read further, please see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Automobiles#Articles of Similar Vehicles. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and feedback. Airline 23:15, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for letting me know about Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Automobiles#Articles of Similar Vehicles. I appreciate it. Bavaria 23:43, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
I appreciate it as well. However, I have permanently removed myself from Wikipedia and have only logged in for the sake of e-mailing some goodbyes to a few friends. - Lucky 6.9 09:12, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:N805SY 2 small.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:N805SY 2 small.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. EdwinHJ | Talk 00:25, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] WikiProject NASCAR proposed standards
WikiProject NASCAR needs your help! We are in the process of forming our proposed standards which, when complete, will hopefully become a Wikipedia guideline. The guidelines will help editors understand Wikipedia consensus about things like which NASCAR-related articles meet notability standards. Please stop by and let us know what you think! [edit] Wikiproject Automobiles Notification
Hi Airline, you were on the list of members at WikiProject Automobiles and we are introducing a new way of listing members, as the old list was becoming too long. Our new method involves having all of our members in a category.
To add yourself to the category just add the userbox to your user page by putting {{Wiki Auto Project}} where you want the userbox. Alternatively if you don't like the userbox you can add [[Category:WikiProject Automobiles members|Airline]] to your userpage.
If you no longer wish to be a member of the project, simply don't add the userbox or category, there's no pressure. Thanks for your time, James086Talk | Contribs 04:53, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 3M Performance 400 requested move
I don't know anything about NASCAR, but from what I can see it used to be like this:
- 2006 (based on 2006 in NASCAR)
- 17th race: 3M Performance 400
- 25th race: GFS Marketplace 400
- 2007 (based on List of current NASCAR races)
- 15th race: Citizens Bank 400
- 23rd race: 3M Performance 400 presented by Post-It Picture Paper
Could it not be argued that the two events have been swapped around, and that only one has changed its name? Why must the earlier of the two in each season be treated as an entity, and not the ones which share the same name? --Stemonitis 11:43, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- Since he hasn't been editing lately, I'll just say that the reason we have been treating each race as a seperate entity is to keep the histories of each race seperate. The media does it this way as well, referring to "the spring race" or "the fall race". Recury 14:38, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not convinced that the proposed move is the best solution (although I'm prepared to be over-ruled by more knowledgeable people). If it's referred to as the "spring race", then perhaps the title should reflect that. It all seems to be approaching the topic from the wrong side somehow, although I'm struggling to find a concrete complaint. I have removed this long-since lapsed proposal from WP:RM, but by all means list it there again. I just don't think I can consider this uncontroversial. --Stemonitis 11:00, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Nklogo.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Nklogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
The image has been orphaned as I have replaced it with a PNG version that is smaller, to comply with the requirement that fair use images be low resolution. Hawaiian717 01:25, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
