[edit] Image tagging for Image:Map Rail Ireland Viceregal Commision 1906.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Map Rail Ireland Viceregal Commision 1906.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

[edit] Automatic train protection system

Could you please explain why you insist on changing "(Republic of Ireland)" to "(Ireland)" in the above article? As if to 'educate', you have also made the Wikilink point to Names of the Irish state. To quote from that very article:

"The Republic of Ireland is generally used in any context in which it is necessary to distinguish between the state and the island of Ireland as a whole."

The above certainly applies in this case. It is necessary to make clear that ATP & CAWS are only used on railways in the Republic of Ireland, and not Northern Ireland. Signalhead 19:54, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Hello! I've responded to your message on my talk page. Signalhead 19:31, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:1989intercitylogo.png

Thanks for uploading Image:1989intercitylogo.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 23:04, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] BART cleanup

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I changed back a lot of the spelling "corrections" you made because they weren't... well... correct for American English, as the article is about an American subway system. I do appreciate, however, lots of the little random ones you fixed, like "Fransisco". Cheers --Matt 22:17, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks man, sorry I missed the ones you just caught! --Matt 23:13, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dundrum

Thanks for fixing the bus routes to and fro Dundrum. You were quick off the mark, fair play. Are you just doing all the stops on the Luas or do you have an interest in South Dublin as well? Are you putting on more info on the shopping center seeing as its such a massive change to the town?

(Newbie, ex Balally resident, still go home enough though to warrant putting my oar in, imho :) July 1st 2007 23:28)

Don't use the bus much anymore, but I do remember having a bigger selection of routes than originally listed. Don't intend to add anything on the new S.C., being more interested in older stuff myself. Suckindiesel 23:04, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:1987intercitylogo.png

Thanks for uploading Image:1987intercitylogo.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:23, 12 August 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. OsamaK 18:23, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] History of rail transport in Ireland

Do you know if this edit to History of rail transport in Ireland is correct? I don't know but it looks wrong to me. Thanks ww2censor 23:03, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Definitely broad gauge (5-ft 3-in) The 1906 map shows the W&T as broad gauge. Only the narrow gauges are defined in the list, all others are assumed to be broad gauge by default. Therefore no need to include the W&T's gauge in list. Take a look at Image:Train at Bath Street.JPG which looks broad gauge to me. [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:GSWRLogo.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:GSWRLogo.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. PxMa 19:44, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dun Laoghaire railway station

Hi. If you have a chance, can you find a source for the opening of the new station building at Dun Laoghaire railway station?

I went with the mid-1840's, per the source I was working from, but you went with 1854, which actually I think is right, but I can't find a source. (One of these things: I know I saw something recently that said the 1850's rather than 1840's, but I don't know where :O) )

Cheers. FlowerpotmaN·(t) 21:02, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Never mind. It dawned on me that I had seen the date online, so it was a quick Google search away. FlowerpotmaN·(t) 21:46, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Yes, thats exactly the same source I used. I've actually seen 1844 quoted on some restaurant guide site but archiseek looks solid. Suckindiesel 22:53, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
    • Yup. It has the detail of the building of the station being delayed for two decades after it was designed, which is (AFAIK) right. Actually I think the architect, John Skipton Mulvany, might be overdue for an article himself. Even dealing with railway stations, apart from a couple of stations on that line, he designed Galway railway station, Sligo railway station and of course Broadstone amongst others. Not bad going. Might give it a shot someday, although I don't really have enough for more than a stub at the moment. FlowerpotmaN·(t) 23:46, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
  • I notice that local historian Pat Walsh's book: Images of Ireland: Dun Laoghaire Rathdown, Publisher: Nonsuch Publishing (June 21, 2005), ISBN-10: 1845885007 quotes 1845 Suckindiesel 19:12, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Lavabo of Mellifont Abbey, 1902.jpeg

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Lavabo of Mellifont Abbey, 1902.jpeg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 22:53, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Malahide Abbey 1820.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Malahide Abbey 1820.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 22:22, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
