Somerset Park is a football stadium located in Ayr, South Ayrshire.
It has been the home of Ayr United F.C. since they were founded in 1910 and it currently has a capacity of 12,128. The record attendance for Somerset Park came against Rangers F.C. in 1969 with 25,225 people attending on the 13th of September 1969. It is one of the largest capacity stadiums outside of the Scottish Premier League but only 1597 of the total is seated.
Recently the club have announced plans to sell Somerset Park and move to a new purpose built stadium in the town's Heathfield District.[1] The new location is planned to consist of a single stand stadium of 3640 seats with the potential to add another 3000 seat stand and a 1000 person capacity terrace. 7640 total (6640 seats).
