Richard T. Bradley (commonly known as Rich Bradley) is a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 40th District since 1997.
Deb Mell, daughter of Ald. Richard Mell and sister-in-law of Gov. Rod Blagojevich, announced that she was running for the 40th District seat in 2008. Bradley therefore decided to run for the Illinois Senate against Sen. Iris Martinez rather than face Mell. Martinez was re-elected in February 2008, defeating Bradley and another candidate, by a wide margin.
