Quarrata is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Pistoia in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 30 km north of Florence and about 20 km south of Pistoia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 23,884 and an area of 46.0 km².[1]
The municipality of Quarrata contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Barba, Buriano, Caserana, Casini, Catena, Ferruccia, Forrottoli, Lucciano, Montemagno, Montorio, Olmi, Santonuovo, Tizzana, Valenzatico, and Vignole.
Quarrata borders the following municipalities: Agliana, Carmignano, Lamporecchio, Pistoia, Prato, Serravalle Pistoiese, Vinci.
