Paris Dauphine University

Dauphine University, Paris (Université de technologie en sciences des organisations et de la décision de Paris-Dauphine or Université Paris-Dauphine, formerly Université Paris IX) was founded as a faculty of economic and management sciences in 1968 in the former Palais de l'Otan, the NATO headquarters, in Western Paris.
Having become a university in 1970, Paris-Dauphine quickly acquired a high-level reputation in its own field. Dauphine is still called a "university", however contrary to French universities the admissions process is very selective, not only for its Masters but also for its first year students (a "Mention Assez Bien" in the French Baccalaureat is considered a minimum prerequisite, although nowadays, a mention 'Bien' appears to be the guarantee to secure an admission). In 2004, Dauphine was granted the status of grand établissement by the French Ministry of Education, the same status as Sciences-Po.
Paris-Dauphine professor Pierre-Louis Lions was awarded the Fields Medal in 1994. Arnaud Lagardère, Chairman of the Board of Directors de EADS is a former student of the university.
The Paris Dauphine University is a member of Paris Universitas, a union of 6 Parisian universities.
Dauphine’s international relations cover:

- 6 joint diplomas with two universities:
- The Autonomous University of Madrid
- Goethe University, Frankfurt
- 24.9% international students enrolled in various programmes or diplomas in 2004/2005.
