Palmer Park, Maryland

Palmer Park is an unincorporated community within the Greater Landover, Maryland, USA census area. Although it has no official boundaries, it is commonly accepted that Palmer Park is bordered by MD Rt. 202 (Landover Road) and the city of Glenarden to the north, Brightseat Road and the now-closed Landover Mall to the east, Sheriff Road to the south, and MD Rt. 704 (Martin Luther King Jr. Highway) and the neighborhood of Kentland to the west. Palmer Park is served by the Landover Metro Station (orange line), which is northwest of Palmer Park across Landover Road. Comedian Martin Lawrence once lived in Palmer Park while attending Eleanor Roosevelt High School in nearby Greenbelt. Also Palmer Park was the hometown of Boxer Sugar Ray Leonard.

The County Police Headquarters is in Palmer Park. The community was also the hometown of the boxer, Sugar Ray Leonard.
Palmer Park is home to the Palmer Park Senior Housing, Prince Georges County Police Headquarters, and is located right across from Prince Georges Sports and Learning Complex and The FedEx stadium. Palmer Park is surrounded by three local schools which are: William Paca Elementary School, Kenmoor Middle School, and Mathew Henson Elementary.
Right at the heart of Palmer Park are small mini stores that include a mini mart, gas station, hair store, Boys and Girls Club offices, and a doctors office. In addition to the stores, Palmer Park Community Center is located right across the street.
Palmer Park is home to the Palmer Park Tigers, and holds an annual Palmer Park day in order to promote community spirit.
