Jewel Taylor

Jewel Cianeh Howard Taylor (born January 17, 1963), as the estranged wife of Charles Taylor is a former First Lady of Liberia, and is the first former First Lady to have joined the national legislature. She is currently Senior Senator for Bong County, and Chair of the Senate's Health and Social Welfare Committee on Gender, Women and Children. [1]

While her husband was President, Taylor held a number of official posts in the Liberian government, including Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Liberia (forerunner to the current Central Bank of Liberia); President of the Agriculture Cooperative and Development Bank (ACDB) and Mortgage Financing Underwriter of the First Union National Bank. In addition, she focussed on educational, health and social projects.
Jewel Taylor holds a Graduate degree in Professional Banking and two bachelors in Banking and Economics. Mrs. Taylor is currently enrolled in the MBA program at the Cuttington University College in Liberia.
Jewel Taylor's name has been used by fraudsters using the so-called 419 email scam.[2]
