[edit] Template Title
Would it not be better to call this template Gossip Girl (TV Series), just that looking at [other similar templates] none mention which network the show is broadcast on, and I believe it looks a little odd to have the title as Gossip Girl on the CW.Julesn84 (talk) 22:25, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- It's sorta awkward to display "(TV series)" so I thought of a compromise by adding "at the CW". Doesn't mean if hasn't been done before it would never be done. See Template:Heroes where the "(TV series)" is omitted.--Howard the Duck 02:53, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- OK, I see where we disagree, as I'm of the opposite opinion. Basically as the template currently refers only to the TV series, I believe that it's more self explanatory to those coming to the template who don't know of the CW.
- ie On the Serena van der Woodsen page there is no mention of the CW until you get to the template title, and if the template was set to hide the contents, it might be confusing to those readers who are not from the USA, and so don't realise that the reference to the CW means that the template is about the TV series, rather than the books.Julesn84 (talk) 03:34, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- It's really not that hard to figure out since when you hover on "on the CW" the alt text says "The CW Television Network", plus the template mentions CvG's book series at the very end so that's a good enough clue.
- And the CW is the network that "owns" this show; perhaps expanding "on the CW" into "on the CW Television Network"? "Gossip Girl (TV series)" looks really bad for me. --Howard the Duck 03:42, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] New design
The new template's resemblance to Template:OCnavigation is purely coincidental. --Howard the Duck 07:43, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
