Denis Marconato (born July 29, 1975 in Treviso) is an Italian basketball player. He is 211 (6' 11") cm tall and plays as a center.
[edit] Club career
He joined Benetton Treviso youth team in 1990 and he won three juniores titles between 1991 and 1994. Marconato made his debut in Serie A in 1993/94 season, but the young player didn't have enough space in the roster, so he was loaned to Padova, where he demonsrated his talent. In 1996/97 he returned in Treviso, and Benetton coach, Mike D'Antoni, gave him a more important role in the team; Denis won in this season his first italian title. After winning the Italian Supercup and Saporta Cup in 1999, Denis is nominated MVP at Italian Cup Final Eight in 2000 (won by Benetton). In the following years he conquers other two Italian titles (2002 and 2003), other three Italian Cups (2003, 2004 and 2005) and two partecipations at Euroleague Final Four (2002 and 2003). During his last season in Treviso Marconato was also the captain of the team, in the summer of 2005 he accepted to move to Barcelona together with his national team teammate Gianluca Basile.

He played in 1994 with Under-20 Italian national team, and he participated in Under-22 European Championship held in Istanbul in 1996. Beginning from that year he is a stable member of the senior national team, which won European Championship in 1999, a bronze medal at the European Championship in 2003 and the silver medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. In addition Marconato was also a member of Italian roster at the World Championship in 2006.
