Blue October UK is a Synthpop/Pop/Dance The first incarnation of Blue October formed in 1996. Glen Wisbey and Barney Miller struck a chord with an eclectic mix of electronic and acoustic instruments to produce the album 2Incoming", released in 1998 on US label A Different Drum. With the focus purely on quality song writing, this first offering was warmly received by their new found audience.
However, tragedy was to strike suddenly as Barney unexpectedly died soon after. Through much deliberation, Glen was finally on the verge of laying the band to rest but for a chance meeting with another vocalist, Ross Carter. This collaboration sparked a new energy which was eventually to grow and blossom into what Blue October is today.
The release in 2001 of a second album, "Preaching Lies to the Righteous" fortified the meaning of songs which were emotional, evocative and thought provoking and strengthened a developing fan base who were touched and felt a connection to the music and words.
A third album, "One day Silver, One Day Gold" saw the light in 2005 and, a third member, Chris Taubert, "officially" joined the band. Adding his programming skills to help produce a harsher, grittier, angst ridden sound.
In addition to 3 album releases, Blue October have appeared on numerous compilations across the globe and recently had a track featured on the Microsoft "Dance Dance Revolution Ultra mix 4" X-Box game.
Currently in the final throes of preparation for the release of a fourth album "Walk Amongst the Living", Blue October are now a "four piece" with the welcomed presence of Nic Johnston's precision guitar playing which has graced many sessions for the band Erasure.
Producer, Steve Travell is nurturing, shaping and refining the Blue October sound into a brand new era. Songs still traversing emotional depths are now charged with an electric atmosphere of pleasurable excitement. The Blue October UK world eagerly waits in anticipation.
