The Australian and New Zealand Beckenhams were named for the town in London, and this association continues in the naming of adjacent areas: the town of Sydenham is next to Beckenham in London, the suburb of Sydenham adjoins the suburb of Beckenham in Christchurch, and the suburb of Beckenham in Perth contains a Sydenham Street.
